The second edition of the International League T20 will take place between January 19 and February 17, 2024.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah,
and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi will serve as the host sites.
The Emirates Cricket Board, while not being an ICC full member, earned ‘official’ List-A status for
ILT20 in December 2023, making it the first Associate-run franchise league to receive this designation.
The six competing teams are the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals,
Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors, who return from the previous tournament.
Giants won the inaugural championship by defeating Vipers by seven wickets in the 2023 ILT20 final.
Chris Jordan of the Gulf Giants was named Player of the Tournament after a spectacular bowling effort that included 20 wickets.
Desert Vipers’ Alex Hales won the Most Runs award, scoring a total of 469 runs during the tournament.
Following the injury of MI Cape Town captain Rashid Khan in SA20, Kieron Pollard, who was
MI Emirates retained for the 2024 ILT20, was named as his successor.
Due to schedule difficulties with SA20, Nicholas Pooran has been named MI’s captain.
Pollard is set to join the team in the last stages of the ILT20 in the UAE.
Colin Munro will continue to captain the Desert Vipers, while James will lead the Gulf Giants in the following season.
David Warner, making his ILT20 debut, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore will captain Dubai Capitals and Sharjah Warriors, respectively.
The next T20 league will use a double round-robin format with playoffs, consisting of 34 matches,
comprising Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the final.
The final will take place on February 17 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
