Indonesia qualify for their first-ever ICC World Cup. Indonesia is the newest team to sign up for the 2019 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.
The Indonesian women secured their spot in the 2019 T20 World Cup with a thrilling win over Papua New Guinea.
Eighteen-year-old bowler Ayu Kurniartini showed tremendous nerve as she faced the final over with Papua New Guinea needing only two runs to win.
Kurniartini took two wickets in the final over to seal the victory and send her team to the ICC World Cup for the first time in their history.
Wesikaratna Dewi, captain for Indonesia, was overjoyed with the outcome and has high hopes for the future.
Dewi exclaimed, “I am very thrilled and extremely proud of the team. I still can’t believe we’re here, but we’re going to do Indonesia proud in the World Cup.”
PNG’s Dika Lohia was named Best Bowler and Player of the Tournament after an exciting best-of-three series. In Game 2, she finished with 5/8, including an undefeated 25 that helped her team win the match.
This is a huge stride for the Persatuan Cricket Indonesia (PCI), which has set out to create “an Indonesia sport uniting the country via international achievement that inspires national pride.”
“We have worked extremely hard to reach this level and this signifies a new milestone for women’s sport in Indonesia,” stated the Acting Chairperson of PCI Abhiram Singh Yadav. I’m looking forward to sharing the distinctive fashion and culture of Indonesia with the world in South Africa.
According to ICC Tournament Director Rob Gomm, “The dramatic conclusion to this event has closed off a fantastic or remarkable week in Bali, Indonesia, showcasing the best of women’s cricket in the East Asia-Pacific area.” ” I am confident that Papua New Guinea will learn and improve as a result of this, and I wish Indonesia the best of luck at the World Cup in South Africa.”

Papua New Guinea won by four wickets in the second match, 72/6 (18.5), over Indonesia 69/9 (20).
In the third match, Indonesia scored 89 for 8 (with 20) and defeated Papua New Guinea for 87 for 19 (with 19 runs)
