18 March, Indian women’s played their 5th world cup match against Australia, at Eden Park. India lost the match by 6 wickets and 3 bowls left. In the match, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. India’s start was not good, India lost their first wicket in 4th on the score of 11 when Smriti Mandhana got out, and later in the 6th over Shefali Verma also got out. Then experienced Mithali Raj and Yastika Bhatia build a partnership of 130 runs for 3rd wicket.
With help of 3 half-centuries, the Indian team reached 277/7 in 50 overs. Darcia Brown got 3 wickets, she got the wicket of openers and Yastika Bhatia. When Australia came to chase 278 runs. Rachael Haynes and Alyssa Healy give a very strong start to Australians, they build a partnership of 121 runs for the first wicket after start’s like that you got half of the match. With the help of Alyssa Healy (72) and Meg Lanning (97), Australia won the match with ease in 49th over by 6 wickets. The final score of Australia is 280/4 in 49.3 overs.
