The 2022 edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) is in its eighth season. Mumbai City FC, the defending champions, continues to be in the upper half of the ISL 2022 standings. However, as Indian football continues to advance at a rapid pace, the remaining ten teams are putting in their best effort to remain in the running to win the ISL this time around and achieve a great deal more than just the trophy.
The primary objective of the ISL teams during the league stages is to advance to the playoffs with the top four teams in the points table, while the remaining teams are eliminated for the season.However, the order in which the teams are ranked in the ISL Points Table is determined by a few rules.Rules are as follows:
- A team gets 3 points to win the match
- Both teams get 1 point for a draw in the match
- A team earns no points for a loss the match
