Indian cricketer Anureet Singh has announced his retirement. Anureet Singh, who used to play for Baroda and Railways, said on Instagram that he was giving up cricket in India. From 2008 to 2021, the right-handed pacer played 72 First-Class games, 56 List-A games, and 71 T20 games.
In 2008, Anureet played his first FC cricket game for Railways against Karnataka. He thereafter played for Baroda and Sikkim as well. He took 249 wickets in First Class, 85 in List A, and 64 in T20.
Singh has also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL). From 2009 to 2018, he was on the teams of the Punjab Kings, the Kolkata Knight Riders, and the Rajasthan Royals. In 18 games, he took 18 wickets, with a best of 3/23.
His goodbye
In March 2021, he played his last domestic game for Sikkim against Uttarakhand. Then, on September 26, 2022, he said on Instagram that he was leaving Indian cricket.
He wrote: “Since Childhood, I always wanted to be a Cricketer. It has been an incredible cricketing journey since I was 16 years old when I joined Subhania Cricket Club based in Delhi. It was just like dream coming true while I got an opportunity to play for Indian Railways in the Ranji Trophy game against Karnataka during Indian Domestic Season 2008.”
