India women’s national cricket team
India women’s national cricket team, often known as the Women in Blue, represents India in international women’s cricket. The Board of Control for Cricket in India governs it.
They made their’s Test debut against the West Indies in 1976, and its ODI debut in the 1978 World Cup, which it hosted. The squad has reached three World Cup finals, losing to Australia by 98 runs in 2005 and England by 9 runs in 2017. India has reached the semi-finals three times before, in 1997, 2000, and 2009. India has also reached the World Twenty20 finals once (in 2020) and the semi-finals three times (2009, 2010, and 2018).
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the establishment of the All-India Women’s Selection Committee on September 26, 2020. [24] The selection committee is led by Neetu David, a former left-arm spinner.

BYJU is the team’s current sponsor. OPPO’s sponsorship was supposed to last through 2022, however it was transferred to BYJU on September 5, 2019. The Indian squad was previously sponsored by Star India from 2014 to 2017, and Sahara India Pariwar from 2002 to 2013.
Nike has been the team India’s kit supplier for a long time, having won the contract in 2005 and having it extended again for five years, in 2011 and 2016. Nike’s contract expired in September 2020[31], and in October 2020, MPL Sports Apparel & Accessories, a subsidiary of online gaming platform Mobile Premier League, took over as kit manufacturer.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on 30 August 2019, following the conclusion of the Expression of Interest process for Official Partners’ Rights, that Sporta Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Dream11), LafargeHolcim (ACC Cement and Ambuja Cement), and Hyundai Motor India Ltd. had acquired the Official Partners’ Rights for the BCCI International and Domestic matches during 2019-23.
Paytm gained the title sponsorship for all of the team’s domestic fixtures in 2015 and renewed it in 2019 through 2023. Previously, title sponsors included Star India and Airtel.
The following are the wages of the players:
- Grade A – Rs. 50 lakh (US$63,000) per year
- Grade B – Rs. 30 lakh (US$38,000) per year
- Grade C – Rs. 10 lakh (US$13,000) per year
Coaches:
- Ramesh Powar is the head coach.
- Shiv Sundar Das is the batting coach.
- Abhay Sharma is the fielding coach.
- Tanveer Shukla, Sourav Tyagi, Utkarsh Singh, and Akhil S Prasad are the Net trainers.
The highest team total was 467 against England on 14 August 2002 at County Ground in Taunton, England.
