After winning the second match against the hosts by a big margin, now the men in blue will look to seal the series in the third match.
Team India is here in New Zealand to play 3 T20 series and 3 ODI series, out of which the first T20 was washed out due to rain.
After this, India won the second T20 by a huge margin of 65 runs. Now the third and final decisive match is to be played on November 22.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will not play the third match
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will not play the third match of the T20 series against Team India as he has to attend a pre-scheduled medical appointment. In his absence, experienced bowler Tim Southee will lead the team in the match to be held in Napier, while Mark Chapman will be part of the team as a player.
Kiwi coach Gary Studd gave this information on Monday. Studd said- ‘Kane had been trying to book this medical appointment for a long time, but it could not be fixed according to our schedule. The health of our players and staff is of paramount importance to us.
We look forward to seeing him play in Auckland. He was referring to the first ODI to be held in Auckland on Friday. The team also has to play an ODI series of 3 matches after the T20.
The coach also made it clear- ‘This medical appointment has nothing to do with Williamson’s old elbow injury.’
He says on Chapman’s return- ‘After playing in the T20 World Cup and the Tri-Series, I was excited about Chapman’s return to the team.’
In the second T20 match, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson scored 61 runs off 52 balls. He is the second top scorer of the series. Williamson hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in his 93-minute innings.
Team India can’t lose the series now
After winning the second T20 with a bang, Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The first match of the series was washed out due to rain. Because of this, the result of the match did not come out.
In this situation, even if Team India loses the third and final T20 match, the series will end at 1-1. So now under any condition, the team will not lose the India series.
The Indian team defeated New Zealand by 65 runs in the second T20 match on Sunday. They first scored 191 runs with the help of the second T20 International century by Suryakumar Yadav (111 runs *). Then the host was all out for 126 runs. Deepak Hooda took the maximum of 4 wickets.
