A new tour for the Indian team is on the way. The men in blue are going on the Zimbabwe tour next month. Their Indian team has to play a series of 3 ODIs. The series will start on August 18. All matches will be hosted by Harare Sports Club. However, this is not the official announcement of this tour yet. But the technical director of Zimbabwe Cricket Lalchand Rajput has confirmed about it. The men in blue will reach Harare on August 15. The ODI series will be part of the ICC ODI Super Series.
However, Super Series is not important for India because India will play the ODI world cup in any case. India will host the ICC 50 over the world cup. But This will be a big occasion for Zimbabwean cricket to host India. Lal Chand Rajput said- We are very pleased to host India and look forward to a competitive and memorable series.”
India will tour Zimbabwe after 6 years
This is India’s first tour of Zimbabwe’s soil in 6 years. The last time Indians toured Zimbabwe under the leadership of MS Dhoni was in 2016. India had played 3 ODIs and 3 T20 at that time. This time the T20 matches are not part of the series. The T20 Asia Cup is to be held in Sri Lanka from August 27 too. In this case, 2 teams can be formed again. India has also made two teams recently for Ireland and England’s tour also.
India is playing three-match series with England and West Indies too
The Indian team has to play an ODI series each in England and West Indies. However, both the series will not part of the ICC ODI Super League. The team is currently playing the T20 series in England and leading 1-0.
