India sweeps the bronze at the ISSF World Championship
For India to earn a medal on the first day of competition, the trio of Esha Singh, Naamya Kapoor, and Vibhuti Bhatia have successfully defeated team Germany 17-1 in the bronze medal match.
Esha, Naamya, and Vibhuti earned a score of 856 in the first round of qualification to place third and go to the next round. They shot 437 in the following round to place fourth and go to the bronze medal game, finishing behind the Germans. China’s tea took home the gold meda. While Korea’s team also performed very well and took home the silver medal.
Nishchal and Nupur Kumrawat, who competed in the women’s 50m rifle-prone junior category have shot 616.9 and 606.6, respectively, to finish eighth and 34th in the day’s other results.
Surya Pratap Singh (608.7) came in 13th, Pankaj Mukheja (608.5) came in 14th, Harsh Singla (606.0) came in 20th, and Adriyan Karmakar (603.7) came in 27th in the comparable junior men’s competition.
Due to their placing in the top eight in the first qualification round among 17 teams for the 50m rifle-prone mixed team junior category, two Indian couples advanced to the next round.
In the stage, Surya Pratap Singh and Nishchal shot 619.1. And was able to take second place. And while Nupur Kumrawat and Pankaj Mukheja shot a combined 612.4 to take seventh place.
