India name young squad for West Indies ODIs
India name young squad for West Indies ODIs. For the forthcoming three-match ODI series in the West Indies, India has picked a young 16-member squad.
Shikhar Dhawan has been named captain, and Ravindra Jadeja has been selected vice-captain. On July 22, India will arrive in Trinidad to begin a three-match ODI series.
The ODI team’s usual skipper, Rohit Sharma, as well as regular players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, were all given rests during the series.
Deepak Hooda has earned a spot in the team after a strong showing in the recent Twenty20 Internationals. After missing the 2020 Australia tour, Shubman Gill is back in the ODI fold.
Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson will take turns keeping wickets while Rishabh Pant takes a well-deserved break. In the lack of experienced fast bowlers, Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel will be relied upon to spearhead the bowling attack.
