Brilliant scores by Sunil Ramesh and captain Ajay Kumar Reddy helped India beat Bangladesh by 120 runs and win the tournament for the third time in a row. India went on to win the title without losing a game.
Ajay Kumar Reddy, the Indian captain, won the toss and chose to bat. Sunil Ramesh, a healthy batter, was joined in the first over by vice-captain D. Venkateswara Rao. Salman bowled Venkareswara out for 28 in the fourth over, giving Bangladesh the best possible start to the finals.
