The Indian team on the Sri Lanka tour has continued its excellent performance. After beating Sri Lanka in the first T20 series, now the Indian team performed very well in the first ODI as well. Indian team won this match by 4 wickets. When the coin was tossed, the Sri Lankan team won the toss. They decided to bat first.
The Indian women’s team did not allow their decision to be proved right and the team was all out in just 48.2 overs. Sri Lanka’s team managed to score 171 runs. For India, Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh took the highest three wickets each. Pooja Vastrakar also helped India by taking 2 wickets. Captain Harman Preet Kaur and Rajeshwari Gaikwar shared 1 wicket each.

Nilakshi de Silva scored the highest 43 runs for the Sri Lankan women’s team. Hasaini Perera was the second highest scorer from Sri Lanka. In reply, the Indian team displayed very good batting and achieved the target of 172 runs given by Sri Lanka in only 38 overs. Shafali Verma scored 35 runs for India and gave a good start to the team. Later Harmanpreet Kaur’s 44 runs ensured the victory of the Indian team. The contribution of Harleen Deol of 34 runs also was very crucial. The Indian team played with a very high strike rate and finished the match at 12 overs remaining.
Deepti Sharma named man of the match
For his all-around performance, Deepti Sharma was adjudged Man of the Match for this match. Deepti performed brilliantly with both bat and ball Deepti took the highest 3 wickets for the Indian team and also played very important innings of 22 runs.
