Abduallah Shafique, a batsman for Pakistan, maintained his awful run of fielding mishaps with another dropped catch. Abdullah Shafique gives Mitchell Marsh a major relief by dropping another sitter on the first slip.
In the second session of Day 3 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test between Australia and the United States, Shafique, who is positioned at first slip, failed to bring Mitchell Marsh back into the cottage, allowing the hosts to reach 46-5.
With a slim lead of 16–4, Australia was reeling and the Men in Green had a tight hold on the match. In the 16th over of the innings, Aamer Jamal had the all-rounder to pick up one, bringing them dangerously near to shattering the fragile partnership between Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh. Marsh attempted to take a long drive through the off-side route.

In the first innings, Abdullah Shafique had also dropped David Warner at first slip. Shafique had missed an easy opportunity to give Usman Khawaja another chance during the opening Test match at Perth’s Optus Stadium. He was chastised for missing an easy rushing grab since he had to run backward.
He then let up a chance to dismiss David Warner in the opening over of the second innings, demonstrating that his luck has not changed.
Pitching full and getting the ball to go away from the left-handed hitter, Shaheen Afridi had created a perfect opportunity. Shafique kept his place at first slip despite failing to hang onto the opportunity.
No matter the occasion or location, Pakistan’s fielding has always been able to draw attention. It’s possible that skipper Shan Masood mishandled the opening throw of the series to set the tone, but only time will tell if their most recent loss will end up costing them.
