Australia has surpassed India to become the top-ranked Test team in the ICC rankings.
Before this, Australia briefly held the #1 rank after winning the World Test Championship final in June.
Before the most recent update, both Australia and India had ratings of 118, but India was ahead in points.
However, after drawing their two-match series in South Africa 1-1, India dropped one rating point and is currently ranked second.
Meanwhile, Australia defeated Pakistan in the first two Tests to maintain its 118-point lead.
India and Australia are also the top two ODI teams. India ranks first with a rating of 121, while Australia ranks second with 117.
In Twenty20 Internationals, India (265) leads England (256) by nine wickets.
Kane Williamson, Babar Azam, and Suryakumar Yadav are the top three batsmen in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, respectively.
Three spinners dominate the bowling ranks: R Ashwin in Tests, Keshav Maharaj in ODIs, and Adil Rashid in T20Is.
Australia No. 1 Test team – Warner says farewell to Test cricket with a mix of his best songs
A crowd of more than 20,000 applauded his explosive fifty, which included a switch hit, a reverse sweep, and a stroll down the field
The stage was set, and David Warner delivered. With a target of only 130 against Pakistan at the SCG, signing out with a century was out of the question, but a brisk fifty allowed him to hoist the bat across the stadium one final time.
He couldn’t quite make it to the victory moment, being caught lbw by the fiery Sajid Khan, but he was able to walk off the stage alone.
The overall score was 8786 runs, 44.59 average, 70.26 strike rate, 26 hundreds, and 37 fifties.
He finishes fifth on Australia’s all-time list of Test run scorers.
“The reception meant everything to me,” Warner remarked of it. “I’ve given everything I’ve got to play this game, and I’ve given up a lot to be in this position.”
There have been many ups and downs; I’ve had to come back and conquer hardship. I believe I did it effectively.
I believe it has been warmly welcomed by many people, and I believe today has demonstrated to me that I do have a lot of support. I’m grateful, and I’m grateful for that.
Pat Cummins offered Warner the opportunity to lead the squad onto the pitch when play began earlier in the day.
For today, “Thanks Dave” had been painted on the grass beside a picture of Warner’s famous jump.
He was dressed in his original baggy green, which had been returned to the hotel the day before after going missing on the eve of the game.
Warner had not worn it earlier in the second innings, as is customary for him, but for his final Test innings, there was little question he would.
He also made a last catch, snatching the opportunity at leg slip to dismiss Mohammad Rizwan.
He’s a fantastic close-in fielder. Warner hurried out to pad up for the final time in his Test career after Nathan Lyon bowled Hasan Ali.
