On September 2, Kandy will host the Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan. Which is arguably the most eagerly awaited match of the tournament.
According to reports from ESPNCricinfo. This date has been selected in accordance with the most current draft, right before the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) makes it public soon.
According to the draft Nepal will join India and Pakistan in Group A, and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will make up Group B of what looks to be a very tough Asia Cup.
The top two teams from each group go to the Super Four stage. Where a round-robin competition determines which teams advance to the championship.
The event will likely begin on August 30, one day earlier than what the PCB had originally suggested. Pakistan and Nepal will play in the opening match in Multan.
At first, Pakistan had only proposed one location in Lahore for the four events they were planning to organize. The opening game, however, will now take place in Multan thanks to new PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf. Lahore will host three competitions, including a Super Four event.
