Aakash Chopra believes Jitesh Sharma may miss out on a position in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup team if KL Rahul returns and the think-tank opts for a single wicketkeeper-batter.
Jitesh was dismissed for a duck in India’s six-wicket victory against Afghanistan in the second T20I on Sunday, January 14.
Despite an adventurous 31-run effort by the Vidarbha wicketkeeper-batter in the first T20I, he threw away his wicket before the hosts crossed the line.
In a video posted to his YouTube account, Chopra said that if India chooses to go with
Rahul as their lone keeper, Shivam Dube might beat Jitesh to a position in the T20 World Cup team.
Jitesh fumbled his wicket. Jitesh will have to keep in mind that his next race will be challenging because he will be competing against KL Rahul and Sanju Samson.
Maybe not Ishan Kishan, but Dhruv Jurel, who has just joined the Test team. The opening half of the IPL is going to be an incredible race.
Finally, it might come down to a shootout between Jitesh and Shivam Dube.
I know they aren’t competing for the same position, but if KL Rahul comes in as a wicketkeeper,
the Indian team may contemplate playing with only one keeper since they can’t leave Shivam Dube out, the former India opener continued.
Chopra advised Jitesh Sharma to complete matches whenever possible, pointing out that he squandered opportunities in the first two T20Is.
He also mentioned that the Punjab Kings player was defeated by pace on both of Karim Janat’s deliveries in the second T20I.
Jitesh Sharma – He is neither irresponsible nor careless, but rather aggressive, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s knock is praised by Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra, on the other hand, lauded Yashasvi Jaiswal for her aggressive knock, saying: Yashasvi Jaiswal is commendable.
He is exceptional, Yashasvi is unafraid and carefree.
Jaiswal is not irresponsible or reckless, but he is incredibly offensive and attacks with such confidence that if he strikes, it will just come out of the earth.
If the Rajasthan Royals opener has a good run in the IPL, the renowned analyst believes he will bat at the top of the order for India in the T20 World Cup.
He remarked, “This guy will undoubtedly travel to the West Indies.” He has given the Indian team a delicious headache. You must persuade him to open up.
You are not permitted to touch him. Jaiswal had a half-decent IPL and is now set to open for India in the World Cup.
During his 68-run outing, Jaiswal hit five fours and six sixes. Following the dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he contributed 92 runs for the third wicket with Shivam Dube.
