Alyssa Healy, the Australian captain, stated that she had “no animosity” against her Indian colleague Harmanpreet Kaur.
Harmanpreet Kaur also stated that she is eager to take send-offs from Indian players since she isn’t silent on the pitch.
Healy’s comments came after Australia won the ODI series 2-1 on Tuesday. They lost the one-off Test but won the T20I series 3-0.
Throughout the tour, Harmanpreet Kaur cut a furious figure on the pitch, with subtly heated exchanges between the two leaders frequent, especially when the Indian bowled to the Aussie.
Harmanpreet Kaur gave the latter an angry send-off after dismissing her LBW during the Test.
Healy stated, “Harmanpreet Kaur and I are two competitive cricketers doing our jobs.” “We approach it differently, with no disrespect to her, and it’s up to her to deal with it.”
There is no hostility there, in my opinion. If I need to be sent off, so be it.
I’m all for it because, at the end of the day, I’m a happy guy behind the stumps. You have to be able to take it if you’re willing to dish it out.
In the last T20I at the DY Patil Stadium, the captain earned a match-winning 55 (38) points. She was also Australia’s leading run-scorer in the series, earning her the Player of the Series title.
It might be a matter of form – Alyssa Healy on Harmanpreet Kaur’s poor performance
While Healy shined with the bat and as captain, Harmanpreet Kaur managed just single-digit scores in six innings throughout the tour.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s greatest performance came in the second innings of the Test when she scored nine runs.
The Australian captain’s judgment of the situation was sympathetic.
“She got out there and played the sweep shot a lot, which she usually does well,” she explained.
“It could be a matter of form.” She’s had two tough series in a row, and this one has been lengthy.
We had no special preparations, but we knew we had to be ready when she walked up to the crease, and our bowlers did an excellent job keeping her quiet.
India’s head coach, Amol Mazumdar downplayed the worries, stating that slumps “happen to every cricketer.”
