If Shivam Dube does well in the IPL 2024, Suresh Raina believes he might be named Player of the Tournament in this year’s T20 World Cup.
On Thursday, January 11, Dube delivered an outstanding all-round effort in India’s six-wicket victory against Afghanistan at Mohali.
The Men in Blue chased down a 159-run target with six wickets and 15 deliveries to spare.
He recorded figures of 1/9 in two overs and struck an unbeaten 60 from 40 deliveries.
During a conversation on Colours Cineplex, Raina stated that if Dube does well in the 2019 IPL.
He might be the outstanding player in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
In the 2018 IPL, all eyes will be on Shivam Dube and how MS Dhoni employs him in Chennai.
If he does well in the IPL over the next two months, don’t be shocked if he is named Man of the Tournament at the World Cup.
The former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player believes MS Dhoni may be tempted to utilize the all-rounder in the IPL 2024.
He clarified, saying that since he is bowling, the captain may consider whether he can bowl two overs or whether he can be deployed as a floater. He can bat anywhere from 4th to 7th.
When the matches are played on Caribbean or American wickets, he also possesses a strong slower one.

Dube did not have to bowl in the IPL 2023.
It remains to be seen whether he rolls his arm over this year, since the Impact Player rule and the abundance of bowling alternatives in the CSK squad may limit his possibilities.
Make as many runs as you can while your confidence is strong – Suresh Raina on Shivam Dube
Suresh Raina encouraged Shivam Dube to capitalize on his recent form, stating, “He picked up a wicket, and when he got to bat, we saw the form.”
He put up some effort. When your self-confidence is strong, make as many runs as possible.
That is how he is displaying form, and he played well in first-class cricket recently.
The former cricketer-turned-commentator believes the seam-bowling all-rounder can help India.
He possesses drive and self-assurance. With the aggressive cricket he plays, we need a left-hander like him in the top six.
I believe Shivam Dube will be selected for the World Cup.
Raina said that Dube showed that even in T20 cricket, games can be won by playing cricketing shots.
However, he emphasized that the right-arm seamer needs to work more, particularly on his run-up.
