Iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground lit up in TriColor on Independence day: India was declared independent from British rule 75 years ago on August 15. Every Indian across the globe has been celebrating this historic mark of independence. From celebrities to sports persons to fans to people across the globe have been wishing Indians on Independence Day.
Many Indian Sports cricketers also use their social media to wish citizens a happy 75th anniversary of independence. Moreover many foreign cricketers like David Warner posted and congratulated the people of India. For many foreign players, India is like a second home, so they wished the citizens that day.
MCG celebrated and wished India in its own way
The historic and iconic cricket ground of Australia Melbourne Cricket Ground celebrated India’s Independence in its own way till the ground was set up in tricolor to commemorate the occasion. They used their official Twitter handle Melbourne Cricket Ground and shared the picture of the Stadium glowing in three colors Orange white and green resonating with the Indian flag.
The post said, ” Tonight we are lighting up to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.”
The post instantly hit likes and Cricket fans were thanking MCG for this gesture. Australia also lit up other landmarks in tricolor including the iconic Sydney Opera house.
Maine cricketers from foreign countries took to their social media to wish Indian fans. Jos Butler, Jonny Bairstow, Kagiso Rabada, Kane Williamson, Kevin Peterson, David Warner, AB de Villiers, and many other players wished India.
Earlier former Cricket captain MS Dhoni and other Indian cricketers including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Mohamad Siraj, and others took to social media to wish everyone and give a glimpse of their celebration. Former Indian players Virendra Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Wasim Jaffar, and Akash Chopra also wished India.
