On Saturday, January 6, Australia defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), gaining valuable ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points.
The Australians accomplished a 3-0 clean sweep on Day 4 of the Test match, as Pakistan suffered their 17th consecutive Test loss in Australia.

The Australians are fourth in the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table following the Australia versus Pakistan SCG Test, with 54 points and a points percentage (PCT) of 50.
They’ve played eight games, winning five and losing two, with one Test ending in a tie.
Pakistan is sixth with 22 points and a PCT of 45.83 after three straight Test losses. They have previously defeated Sri Lanka in two Tests in July 2023.
In the SCG Test, Pakistan resumed Day 4 with a score of 68/7. In their second innings, they were bowled out for 115 in 43.1 overs.
With Josh Hazlewood finishing with 4/16 and Nathan Lyon with 3/36. Mohammad Rizwan, who was undefeated on 6 overnight, provided 28 points for Pakistan.
India currently leads the World Test Championship points standings
India currently leads the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. They have a total of 26 points and a PCT of 54.16.
In the current WTC cycle, India has won two of their four Tests, lost one, and drawn one. They just made history by being the first Asian team to win a Test match in Cape Town.
With 12 points and a PCT of 50, South Africa is second in the WTC points standings. They defeated India by an innings and 32 runs in the first Test at Centurion.
They were bowled out for 55 on Day 1 in Cape Town, however, and lost the Test early on Day 2.
New Zealand has 12 points and a PCT of 50, while the Proteas have 12. Bangladesh is ranked fifth, with the same number of points as PCT.
The West Indies, England, and Sri Lanka are the bottom three in the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table.
