    ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Cricket commentator Aakash Chopra thinks that twenty-two-year-old batter Sanju Samson is slightly behind the others in his bid to play in India’s 2022 World T20 team. He believes with other players such as Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan already making the cut, there are slim chances for Samson to make it.

    Samson was a key player in India’s Asia Cup qualifying run. But his limited opportunities and lack of a spot on the squad for the Asia Cup 2022 means that he will not be able to play for Team India for the time being.

    Aakash Chopra, who spoke on his YouTube channel, mentioned that Indian middle-order batters may deserve a spot in the 2022 T20 World Cup squad. The veteran batsman explained that batting higher up in the order for a player who doesn’t hit boundaries (“Sanju Duckett”) improves their chances of becoming more selective.

    Sanju Samson has a bunch of followers, but they’re not as active online like other players. Sanju hasn’t played much since the World Cup and averages 44 in ODIs with a strike rate of 158. The South African has had a few opportunities, and he’s made the most of them.

    Sanju has had a productive year, with a total of 458 matches and an average of 28. His strike rate sits at 147. The downside is that his numbers come in the top three; however, this is considered successful given the pressures placed on him by opening later in the order.

    When talking about Deepak Hooda, Aakash Chopra brought up his batting skills, saying that the batter is able to bat at different numbers. Moreover, he brings two skills with him. Former India opener felt that Hooda would definitely be a part of the squad for the World Cup.

    In February 2022, Deepak Hooda made his T20I debut. He batted for seven innings, averaging 54, and had a strike rate of 161. Hooda is being hyped as the “Hurricane” because he keeps on power-hitting with incredible skills.

    He has brought two skills to the IPL, he can bat at different numbers. He even scored a century for Bengal but the way he bats is refreshing. The 2019 IPL was beautiful, he was phenomenal. He was made to bat at either number 3 or 4 but he has delivered every single time.
