Match referee Javagal Srinath in report
“The pitch provides a large amount of turn on the first day itself but later with every session pitch improved, in my point of view, the contest was not even between bat and ball” – Javagal Srinath.
In the statement issued by ICC.
The report has been forwarded to BCCI.
ICC pitch and outfield monitoring process
This process introduces by ICC in January 2018. According to this process, if an outfield and pitch are rated as being substandard by the match referee, that venue will get demerit points. The venue will get one demerit point if the pitch is rated below average. And if the pitch and outfield will be rated poor and unfit to play it will get two or five demerit points. The venue will suspend if the demerit point crosses the threshold.
