ICC launches 100% Cricket superstars
ICC launches 100% Cricket superstars. To celebrate female cricketers everywhere, the International Cricket Council has created the 100% Cricket Superstars initiative. The most important competitions of the season fall within this time frame. Furthermore, this will increase the level of participation from the audience by allowing them to select the final playing XI from the declared team. The ICC will often release announcements about roster changes.
The likelihood of India winning the 2023 World Test Championship
What went down was as follows: India came in at 52.08 percent, Pakistan was in third at 52.38 percent, Australia was in first at 77.78 percent, and South Africa was in second at 71.43 percent. WTC uses a 12-point victory, a 4-point second-place finish, and a 6-point third-place finishes scoring system. Did India throw away a chance to play in the finals?
Next up, India will play a two-match away series against Bangladesh, followed by four matches against Australia at home. India will have reached 68.06 percent if they are victorious in all six matches. If they don’t win at least five of the six games, qualification will be extremely difficult. Besides India, the other final spots are open to Pakistan, South Africa, or Australia.
100% Cricket Superstars
On Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled its ‘100% Cricket Superstars’ roster, consisting of five players (July 6). In preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, young athletes from five countries will participate in a program of its kind.
The initial group of players selected for the project consists of Sophie Ecclestone (England), Amelia Kerr (New Zealand), Hayley Matthews (West Indies), Shafali Verma (India), and Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa). Wasim Khan, General Manager of the International Cricket Council, has commented on this new venture. During a season that features some of the sport’s most important events, “100% Cricket Superstars honors the top talent in the women’s game as part or component of the ICC’s continuing 100 percent Cricket promotion,” Khan said.
These five players were chosen with significant input from the ICC Women’s Cricket Committee, whose members include former England captain Clare Connor, former New Zealand player Catherine Campbell, and former Australian international Mel Jones.
Verma, the 18-year-old opener for India, has been a huge hit with fans since she debuted in 2019. To India’s 2020 T20 World Cup bid, India’s youngest half-centurion was vital. She proved her ability to bat steadily for longer periods of time during India’s Test match against England. Eccelstone, the best bowler in one-day internationals and twenty-over games, will also be participating in the ICC program. At the just finished ICC Cricket World Cup, she played a crucial role in England’s comeback.
Since her debut in 2014, Matthews has been an integral part of the West Indies’ success. Matthews has shown her superiority in white-ball cricket for more than eight years, and she was named the tournament’s most valuable player in the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup final. With her leg-spin bowling and aggressive hitting, New Zealand’s Kerr has established herself as a top-tier talent. Before the Commonwealth Games, she will participate in the ICC project.
Wolvaardt, a right-handed batter for South Africa, has accumulated 3000 runs in ODIs and has made four consecutive half-centuries in the most recent ICC World Cup, which was held in New Zealand.
For the first time since 1998, cricket will be included in the Commonwealth Games. The tournament will run from July 29th to August 7th, with all matches being played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground and featuring eight different countries.
The inaugural Nagaland Cricket Association Women’s Champion’s Trophy went to Chathe XI.
A total of 96 cricketers, split evenly among eight teams of 12 each, competed in a competition hosted by the Nagaland Cricket Association. Starting on July 1 at the Sovima Cricket Ground in Dimapur, the Champion’s Trophy was ultimately won by the Chathe XI. T-20 was the format used for the tournament. Chathe XI won the championship game against Doyang XI by a 30-run margin.
For the first time ever, Indonesian female athletes will compete in the ICC World Cup.
The Indonesian women qualified for the 2019 U19 T20 World Cup after a nail-biting victory over Papua New Guinea.
Summary:
Indonesia-U19: 89/8 (20 overs)
PNG-U19: 87/10 (19.2 overs)
Indonesia-U19 won by 2 runs.
