For India and Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Virat Kohli’s two sixes against Haris Rauf changed the game. During the Indo-Pak match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli’s consecutive sixes off Haris Rauf are widely regarded as an iconic moment in the game of cricket.
Kohli smashed two sixes in the 19th over against Rauf during India’s run chase, scoring 82 not out from 53 balls. The straight hit, dubbed “arguably the greatest single T20 shot of all time” by the International Cricket Council, is the more popular of the two. Rauf discussed his bowling strategies, how they were carried out, and Virat’s unparalleled class, recalling the memorable moment a month later.
Rauf Stated,”
The way he played in the World Cup, that is his class, we all know the types of shots he plays,” acknowledging that only Kohli could have used the willow in that manner against him. “And I don’t think any other player can hit a shot like that off my bowling the way he hit those sixes. While speaking with Cricwick, Rauf stated, “I would have been hurting if Dinesh Karthik or Hardik Pandya had hit those sixes.
But those came off Kohli’s bat, and he is a different class altogether.” The plan was to bowl slower in that back-of-a-length zone because the square side had a larger boundary. He can hit me from that distance, which I had no idea about. That’s his class when he hit me with that shot. That shot was flawless, but my plan and execution were fine,” he added.
Everyone was astonished when Kohli smashed a spectacular shot over Haris’ head for a six. His fifty helped India win the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan by four wickets on the final ball. India’s chase for 160 was aided by his unbeaten 82 and 113-run partnership with Hardik Pandya (40).
Rauf also discussed Pakistan’s World Cup campaign, saying, “It wasn’t an ideal start… losing the first two matches was upsetting. “The morale in the dressing room was extremely low, but we met the following day to talk about our mistakes, come up with a new strategy, and have faith that we will play in the World Cup final. With that belief, we left the locker room and eventually competed in the World Cup final.
