When he talked about Team India’s preparations for the WTC Final, Rahul Dravid spoke directly to the audience.
Group India confronted a frustrating loss in the last of the World Test Title against Australia at The Oval, as the side yielded a 209-run misfortune in the title conflict.
This was India’s second-progressive misfortune in the last of the competition; Two years prior, the team had lost to New Zealand in the final by seven wickets.
During the game against Australia, the team experienced batting collapses in both innings; After starting the final day at 164/3, India were bowled out for 234 in a mammoth chase of 444 runs.
Throughout the five days of the Test, Australia dominated; After scoring a respectable 469 in the first innings, they bowled the Indian team out for 296.
It could have been much worse for the team if it weren’t for Ajinkya Rahane’s 89 and Shardul Thakur’s 51. As a result, the Indian pacers failed to impress once more as the Aussies scored 270/8 in yet another impressive performance.
Head coach Rahul Dravid of Team India was questioned about his satisfaction with the team’s final-day preparations following the defeat.
With the exception of Cheteshwar Pujara, every member of the Indian squad participated in the 2023 Indian Premier League. They began arriving in England less than two weeks prior to the start of the WTC Final.
As a coach, I will never be satisfied with the preparations. However, that is the reality that I am prepared to accept, and we must all accept.
The schedules are so congested and condensed. On Star Sports, a visibly irritated Dravid stated.
“These guys know… if you’re playing international cricket and if you are here three weeks before the tour. Playing two side-games, you are going to be better prepared.”
“However, we lack that. The circumstances prevent it. We need to manage with our best.Because they performed better than we did over the course of five days.
I just want to congratulate Australia on winning the championship. No complaints or justifications.
