I never asked anyone why. You obviously feel bad that…: India star’s response, Ravichandran Ashwin participated in the 2021 World Twenty20, marking his return to the format after a layoff of four years. Ashwin was a member of the team that competed in the competition.
Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy accompanied him, but Yuzvendra Chahal was not a part of the mix. Yuzvendra Chahal had a disappointing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, taking only four wickets in seven games during the Indian portion of the competition.
This caused him to be left out of the mix. The selectors “wanted someone who bowls quickly and gets pace off the pitch and also gets the ball to grip through the surface,” so they went with Chahar instead of Chahal. Chahar was the better option.
To bring things up to date, Chahal is currently in the lead for the Twenty20 championship that will be held in Australia this year. The leg-spinner was in incredible shape during the most recent season of the Indian Premier League, which resulted in him finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 27 wickets at an average of 19.51 and an economy rate of 7.75 across 17 matches. In addition to that, he is currently leading the charge for the Indian spin attack.
The 32-year-old cricketer was asked about his exclusion from the tournament the previous year. He explained that his primary goal was to deliver excellent performances in the second half of the Indian Premier League 2021.

“I never questioned anyone why (about the 2021 World Cup snub), because it is not within my power to change that decision. Obviously, it’s disappointing that you weren’t selected for the World Cup, but they may have felt that another player was more deserving and it’s possible that they were right “According to Chahal, Sports Yaari.
“Performing was what was in my hands, and that’s exactly what I did in the second half of the IPL 2021 in the UAE,” he added. “What was in my hands was performing.”
Chahal, who recently moved his base to Rajasthan Royals, revealed that Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian squad, informed him that his job in the team required him to bowl at the death as well. Chahal is currently playing for the Rajasthan Royals. After improving his skill set while playing for the new IPL franchise, he finished the season with the Purple Cap.
“Before I headed to the Indian Premier League, Rohit Bhaiya informed me that it was possible that I would be required to bowl at various points of the game, including the death overs. In addition, Rahul sir advised me to work on delivering my lines more fully. Therefore, when I got to the Rajasthan Royals, I spoke to Sanju, and he encouraged me and stated that I should bowl an over at the death, regardless of how many runs I went for.
“I began my practice by bowling yorkers on a single wicket and using variations such as cross seam. I kept asking the batters how far off the yorker I was, and all of their input was extremely helpful.” Chahal clarified this.
In the forthcoming Asia Cup, which India will kick off their campaign for with a blockbuster match against their fiercest rivals Pakistan, Chahal is expected to make an appearance. July was the month that saw the tweaker’s final appearance in a One-Day International for the West Indies.
