Kane Williamson refutes Ross Taylor’s assertions about Neil Wagner’s retirement
Kane Williamson is a New Zealand international cricketer who leads the New Zealand national squad in limited overs cricket.
New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has denied reports of discontent in the camp that led to Neil Wagner’s ‘forced’ retirement, which were recently made by former teammate Ross Taylor.
Wagner, a left-arm seamer, ended his international career after realizing he would not be playing in the home series against Australia.
Despite the absence of Trent Boult, the Kiwis have plenty of options with newcomers such as William O’Rourke and Ben Sears.
Several people, including former Australia captain Aaron Finch, were astonished by New Zealand’s selection, which saw Wagner sit out the first Test.
Following William O’Rourke’s injury, the left-arm pacer was expected to be considered for the forthcoming second Test.
But Tim Southee denied such ideas, prompting New Zealand to designate Ben Sears as his substitute.
