A trip to Bangladesh will be England’s final international assignment of the winter, followed by a three-match T20I series. Before Chattogram hosts the series finale, the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium will host the first two One-Day Internationals. The beginning of each match will be at noon local time, or 6 a.m. GMT.
England will be without their multi-format players for the Test match series because Joe Root and Ben Duckett are still in New Zealand. Will Jacks has flown in to participate in the series ahead of England’s final Test. Rehan Ahmed is included for the first time in England’s ODI squad, and James Vince is also back.
Tom Abell was initially selected for the 15-man squad, but he has been ruled out of the series after suffering a side strain while playing for the England Lions in Sri Lanka. This is the first series for Bangladesh under Chandika Hathurusingha, who was head coach from 2014 to 2017.
Shakib Al Hasan is uncertain whether to start the first match of the series after returning from the United States 48 hours prior. Off-field tensions between Shakib and ODI captain Tamim Iqbal were the focus of attention prior to the series. Prior to the first game of the series, the two senior players reportedly had open conversations.
