On Sunday, the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 trophy arrived in Bhubaneswar after traveling through 13 states and a Union Territory for 21 days. The state capital is where the men’s hockey World Cup will begin on January 13.

Advertisement When he was presented with the trophy, Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey, who is from the district of Sundargarh, which is commonly referred to as the “cradle of hockey,” said, Bhubaneswar has finally received the trophy. The trophy will be distributed throughout the state’s districts beginning tomorrow.
He further said: Our goal is to get young people excited about the sport.
In Odisha, the 2018 Hockey World Cup was a huge success. Attempts are also being made this time around to make the event a huge success.

Tusharkanti Behera, the Odisha sports and youth services minister, joined Tirkey at the Biju Patnaik Airport to accept the trophy on behalf of the state government.Afterward, the prize was given over to the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Company (BMC) which has the obligation of saving the city sparkling clean for the impending occasion.
