The Colombo Stars were defeated by the Kandy Falcons in the second match of the Lanka Premier League 2022. The Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in Hambantota hosted this match. To get off to a winning start, the Falcons won it by two points.
The Colombo Stars captain, Angelo Mathews, won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Falcons scored a staggering 199 runs thanks to Andre Fletcher’s stunning century (102* off 67 balls) and Pathum Nissanka’s fifty (71* off 41 balls). Seekkuge Prasanna picked up the only wicket for the Stars.
The Stars never got going with 200 on the line because they kept losing wickets and were run out on 90. Fabian Allen contributed with a couple of scalps and Wanindu Hasaranga took four wickets as they won the game completely.

Andre Fletcher of Kandy Hawks has leaped to the best position in the most runs rundown of the Lanka Head Association 2022. In his first match, he scored 102 runs and scored a fantastic century against the Colombo Stars. This puts him comfortably at the top of the list.
Pathum Nissanka, Fletcher’s opening partner, is ranked second on the list of most runs. Nissanka performed admirably in the middle, scoring 71 runs against the Stars. With the bat, he is in excellent form and will attempt to add more in his subsequent appearance.
With 51 runs under his belt, Galle Gladiators’ Kusal Mendis sits behind Nissanka. He held the Gladiators’ innings at one end and scored fifty, but the other end lacked support, and they missed the target by 24 runs. In their second game, he will try to step up and contribute.
