The International League T20 (ILT20), which is based in the United Arab Emirates, is set to pay the highest-paid contracted players $450,000 per season. This makes it the second-most lucrative cricket league for some players, after the Indian Premier League (IPL). Multiple IPL franchise owners have recently added teams to the UAE T20 league.
The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) will run the league, which will start in January 2023 and have a potential salary cap of USD 2.5 million per team. Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals are the three teams that won three of the six franchises in ILT20.
Lancer Capital, led by Avram Glazer, a member of Manchester United’s ownership, Adani Group, an Indian business conglomerate, and Capri Global, own the other three teams. In contrast, the IPL player with the highest salary earns more than $2 million per season; In the PSL, it is 200,000 dollars;
The Hundred pays USD 164,000 to its highest-paid player, and the BBL’s most expensive overseas players earn approximately USD 238,000 per season. There are also rumors that David Warner will play in the UAE T20 league instead of the Big Bash League due to the cost difference.
