Hendricks leads South Africa To 21 run victory against Ireland : South Africa vs Ireland T20 series was held and the last match was played on 3rd August in England. The two-match series was held in England to prepare for the T20 World Cup. Teams are preparing and playing the T20 series to strengthen their preparation for the World Cup.
During the second match, Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram scored half-centuries to begin their T20 series with a win. The opening batsman Reeza Hendricks became the 6th player to score 4 consecutive 50+ scores. He scored 74 off 53 balls including 10 fours. Markham also scored back-to-back half-centuries on his way to 56 off 27 including 2 fours, and 5 sixes.
Their performance helped South Africa
Their scores helped the team to reach 211/5 which is a record score against the Irish team. They scored 189 in Belfast last year. South Africans give targets to the overseas team and they score 190/9 in 20 overs overseas. They tried to compete and were almost on the line, the tourists were expecting to lead 0-1. The second game will begin on the 5th of August on Friday. South Africa’s team is high in confidence after defeating England on their home ground.
Mark Boucher’s side, missing David Miller due to injury, won the toss and opted to bat. Quinton De Kock got out early in a run-out. Russia Van Dussen also got out with a score of 45/2 in 6 overs. Then Hendricks and Markram built a 112-run partnership for the 3rd Wicket. Rising stars Dwaine Pretorious and Tristan Stubbs scored 21 off 7 and 24 off 11 respectively.
South Africa’s official handle reported about the victory. The next and final match will be played on Friday. So, either South Africa will clinch the series win or Ireland can draw the series.
