Becker claimed that the prisoner, who was serving a 25-year sentence for multiple murders, “wanted my money and wanted to kill me.” In the second instance, a prisoner by the name of Ike had cornered Becker. Becker, who was emotional at the time of sharing his experience, added: I also conveyed to him my deep respect for him. According to Becker, safety concerns prevented the prison governor from allowing German football manager Jürgen Klopp, who is currently in charge of Liverpool, to visit him.
Becker also mentioned that while he was in prison, his health suffered. He had to rely on a tight-knit group of other inmates. Whom he referred to as his “blood brothers,” for protection.
Becker stated that he was unable to communicate with his mother or any relatives outside of the UK, including his children.
