Harshal Patel And Jasprit Bumrah On Their Inspirational Story Of Turning Fitness Into A Team Effort
Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah, who are recovering from injuries, have joined the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to speed up their recovery. In a recent picture from the NCA gym, the two players shared a cheeky caption with it.
India’s best two fast bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, will not be playing in the upcoming Asia Cup tournament in January. They won’t be joining the other Indian players with injuries, which means India could potentially face Pakistan three times in this tournament which starts on January 9th.
Bumrah, who was injured during the second ODI against England, currently has 3rd degree burns on his foot and is out of action. There is no certainty that he will be in full playing action come next World Cup or not.
Some days ago, it was reported that Kohli might struggle to make it into the Indian national cricket team due to injury time. Luckily for Indian cricket fans and supporters, he recently posted a picture from the Gym in Bengaluru with Harshal Patel which signifies they are recovering and will return soon.
Rashid Khan, a fast bowler from Afghanistan who made his international debut last year, also has an injury that he suffered during the West Indies series at the end of March.
With their injuries now healed, Bumrah and Harshal are gearing up for selection to play in the T20 World Cup. Bumrah posted a picture of himself and captioned it, “The writing on the wall says it all,” a reference to his quote that was written on the ceiling of their NCA gym’s change room. It said, “Be legendary.”
In a video post on Instagram, Harshal shared how he was excited to get back to training and get back onto the team. He gave a fitting caption. “Back to the grind! Sometimes the downside of an injury is that it allows me time to train without worrying about competition, which is precious.” Looking forward to these next three or four weeks of getting stronger and faster, as well as getting healthier in general.
The absence of Harshal and Bumrah for the Asia Cup will leave a big void for India in that format, but their replacements are ready to stand by.
