Groundbreaking for new sports facilities at Twinbrook School
Groundbreaking for new sports facilities at Twinbrook School: The management of Twinbrook School has built a basketball and handball court, an Astro turf football field, a natural grass playing field, a swimming pool, and indoor sports like Table Tennis.
The Need for Facilities
The need for sports facilities is real and vital on both sides of the divide in Uganda. However, because the country’s population is growing so fast, there is a lot of pressure and competition for the land. So, the extra work done to build sports facilities is much appreciated as much as a rain storm in hell.
Deep in Kiteezi, Bamba-Gayaza of Wakiso Town Council, at a small school called Twinbrook School, a unique sports project is being accomplished. The school administration has been able to build a basketball court, a handball court, an artificial turf football field, a natural grass playing field, a swimming pool, and indoor sports like Table Tennis.
The Progress
The new building is an extension of the sports field, and the ground has already been leveled for it. This comes a few months after the Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) set up a Table Tennis Model Club at the Twinbrook School. First of all, the Twinbrook Sports Academy and Skill Center have been growing steadily as it helps young athletes get better at football, basketball, swimming, table tennis, and other sports.
“As Twinbrook Schools through the Twinbrook Sports Academy and Skilling Center, the development of talent is a top priority,” the head of the Twinbrook Sports Academy, Ismael Absa, says.
This is a sports center that will be open to the people of Kiteezi, Bamba, Kiteezi, and Gayaza as a whole, as well as the people in the nearby areas.
It is a step in the right direction to improve the sports infrastructure so that more talented young athletes can be raised. The main goal is to create more stars like Majid Musisi, Peace Proscovia, Stephen Kiprotich, Mary Musoke, Steven Omonyi, and Michael Wokoroach.
