Greece Cricket signs Pacific Star Sports as Commercial Partner
Greece Cricket signs Pacific Star Sports as Commercial Partner: The Hellenic Cricket Federation (HCF), which has been a member of the European Cricket Council since 1996 and an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council since 2017, has made the decision to bring Pacific Star Sports on board as its business partner for the next ten years.
In addition to being the country that gave birth to the Olympic Games, Greece is also home to a cricketing tradition that dates back two centuries.
The island of Corfu, which is considered to be the “home” of cricket in Greece, is getting set to launch the International T10 event in conjunction with Pacific Star Sports to celebrate the two hundredth year that cricket has been played on the island.
New versions of cricket with 10 and 20 overs will be introduced in the country by the HCF in conjunction with Pacific Star Sports. These game versions will be given the names Olympia T10 and Olympia T20.
The cooperation is one of a kind in its structure, with the overarching goal of establishing a cricket culture throughout Greece and generating and fostering interest among new fans and players.
The Olympia T10 and Olympia T20 competitions will most likely be executed and managed by Pacific Star Sports in collaboration with ITW Universe, who will serve as the event’s partner.
Statements
The President of the HCF, Mr. Kyriakos Katsoras, stated: “We welcome Pacific Star Sports as our partner. They have a vision of establishing new cricket events across the nation, which coincides with our ambition for the future of cricket in Greece. We are looking forward to a productive collaboration.”
“Greece has one of the oldest cricketing cultures in Europe, with clubs from the 19th century still playing cricket in Corfu,” said Mr. Ali Akbar Khan, Director of Pacific Star Sports (PSS). We are looking forward to working closely with the HCF and contributing to that tradition by bringing new tournaments in Greece, both locally and internationally.
Both parties would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to Mr. Nicolas Fournarakis, Development Consultant at HCF, who was instrumental in brokering this agreement through his consistent efforts over the past few months.
The HCF is excited about the cooperation, and the organisation is looking forward to providing more information about the upcoming tournaments.
About Greece Cricket
The Hellenic Cricket Federation is in charge of managing Greece’s national cricket team. The Hellenic Cricket Federation became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1995 and maintained that membership until 2017.
Greece made its debut on the international level for the first time at the European Cricketer Cup in Guernsey in the year 1990. Since since, it has not missed a single ECC competition and has consistently taken part in those competitions.
One of the first significant coups for many boards was the establishment of a commercial partnership with Pacific Star Sports. The board will collaborate with Pacific Star Sports, a business partner based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in order to restore Greece cricket to its former glory. Pacific Star Sports is located in the UAE.
