Golf on TV Today: Golf Tournament Television Schedule
Golf on TV Today: Golf Tournament Television Schedule: This week’s BMW Championship is the second stop on the PGA Tour’s playoffs, and players are making the trek from Memphis, Tennessee, to Wilmington, Delaware, in order to compete. The tournament is being held at the Wilmington Country Club.
The BMW Championship has been the penultimate tournament ever since the very first year that the FedEx Cup has been held, and it is still played at various golf courses located in the Midwest and Northeast of the United States.
In its first-ever appearance on the PGA Tour, Wilmington Country Club will be in the spotlight like never before. Will Zalatoris, who just recently won his first major title at the St. Jude Championship, is looking to keep the momentum rolling on the course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. If he has a good finish, he will almost certainly be in the first place when it comes to the FedEx Cup rankings heading into the Tour Championship.
Cameron Smith is not going to weigh in on this topic, in contrast to Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, who might have something to contribute.
The FedEx Cup No. 3 will not be participating in the BMW Championship because he is experiencing hip discomfort. That, along with the fact that Tommy Fleetwood will be sitting this one out for personal reasons, brings the total number of participants on the field to 68.
The battle at the bottom of the standings, where many players are striving for a spot in their very first Tour Championship, is just as interesting to watch as the action at the top of the standings.
The top thirty players will receive invitations to the event that will be held the following week and, as a result, will be exempt from qualifying for three major championships. The fact that Davis Riley (No. 27), Maverick McNealy (No. 33), and Denny McCarthy (No. 36) have not yet competed in The Masters lends further weight to the significance of the BMW Championship. Sahith Theegala (No. 28) and Maverick McNealy (No. 33) are also in this category.
