Gold Coast and Canberra might host BBL finals matches: – Due to venue availability during the Test summer, the Adelaide Strikers will have to travel to Canberra for the Big Bash League final match if they win the right to host the game.
During the BBL finals week, there is a possibility that Australia will face a home Test series against the West Indies. Test matches are to be held at Adelaide Oval and Gabba in Brisbane.
The Strikers would not be permitted to host the championship game if they were first or third. Match in Adelaide and would have to play their qualification or knockout at Manuka Oval.
The Strikers have a good chance of finishing third on the BBL ladder, where they are currently fourth. If the Strikers qualify, the Adelaide Oval will open to challengers on 22 January and the final will take place on 24 January.
The other team to be affected is the Heat, who are currently in the top spot. The Heat will still be allowed to use the 27,000-seat Heritage Bank Stadium (Carrara Oval) on the Gold Coast for their home finals matches, which will be held in southeast Queensland.

Gold Coast and Canberra might host BBL finals matches
This summer, the BBL returned to a Top Four finals series, with the top two teams competing to host the championship game and the third and fourth-placed teams competing in a sudden-death match.
Todd Greenberg, the CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, has stated that he would not be against BBL matches taking place on Christmas Day.
Over the past two seasons, the National Basketball League has found success in terms of ratings and attendance by playing in Australia on December 25. American sports have also prospered on this day.
This summer, the BBL canceled its Christmas Eve match in Hobart, taking a step closer to canceling the Christmas Day event. It seems likely that Christmas night matches will be more popular with the crowds, especially if they are local derbies with traveling fixtures.
This week, Sydney Sixers legend Moises Henriques supported the request, although he clarified that the main concerns would be for support personnel as well as other stadium officials and staff.
Melbourne Stars debutant Tom Rogers admitted with deep hesitation that his mother would not let him leave the house to play.
Although players have not been consulted on the subject by the Australian Cricketers’ Association, Greenberg said he was open to talks.
“There are going to be people who don’t want to play on Christmas Day, and there are going to be people who don’t want to work on it,” he told SEN. “However, it seems like people are willing to talk, and if you can outline the benefits, things will go more smoothly.
“The world changes. If you had said this fifteen or twenty years ago it would have been sacrilegious to play on this day.
“But additional games and different models make it work, so why wouldn’t we open our eyes to it?”
