Frankie Musonda says that he is ready to fulfill a boyhood goal in front of millions of people on the world stage.
The United defender is an important member of Avram Grant’s squad and will compete in his first major event in a fortnight.
The Ayr United defender has joined his Zambian colleagues before the African Cup of Nations. Their pre-tournament training is already underway in Saudi Arabia, with the competition set to begin in a fortnight.
Musonda qualifies for Avram Grant’s team via his father, Patrick, and will be an important part of their tournament campaign in the coming weeks.
Musonda gave Ayr the ideal send-off by heading in the equalizer as they rallied for a draw against Dunfermline on Saturday
“I’d have preferred a clean sheet as a leaving present, but I’ll take the equalizer,” he stated after the 2-2 tie.

He adds that he still pinches himself when he plays for the country where he has become something of a hero since making his debut in March 2022.
