France’s 18-Year-Old Batter Gets World Record : The teenager became the youngest person to hit a T20I century and again when France’s Gustav McKeon scored a beautiful hundred in Europe 2020.
The fastest-ever batsman in the history of T20I Cricket, Gustav McKeon, has achieved yet another remarkable milestone by hitting back-to-back centuries. He’s now the first man to have a hundred and two tons in T20Is.
On July 25, Gustav McKeon scored his first T20 century at the age of 18 years and 280 days, to become just the second player under 20 to score a century. He surpassed Hazratullah Zazai of Afghanistan, who also achieved this landmark in 2019.
On July 27th, a French teen hit an incredible billiards shot against Norway in their cricket match. He scored 101 runs off 53 balls, including 5 for fours and 8 for sixes. The French lad reached his century with a 6 over mid-wicket home run to bring up 100,000 runs in his century.
He helped France post a tally of 158 on the board when they won the toss and bowled medium pace to bag 3 wickets. He was awarded the Player of the Match award for his performance.
Meanwhile, McKeon became the first man to score back-to-back centuries in the T20 international format. He also has scored 286 runs in 3 T20 international matches, averaging 95.33 and striking at a rate of 170.23 with 2 tons and a half-century in his career.
His 286 runs are the most scored in a player’s first three innings in men’s T20Is. He broke Azhar Andani’s record last year when he scored 46, 100 and 81 in his first three innings for Portugal.
His performance helped France post 158/8 on the board after winning the toss and batting first. McKeon, with his medium pace, took 3 wickets and helped France win the match by 11 runs. He also won the Player of the Match award for his sensational performance.
In Vantaa, McKeon blasted 5 fours and 8 sixes in 53 balls, reaching 101. He mentioned 3 figures with an enormous 6 over mid-wicket.
For his second straight T20I century, McKeon could be the primary man to hit back-to-back centuries. The opener broke the report of Azhar Andani, who made scores of 46, 100 and 81 in his first three innings for Portugal’s final 12 months.
