Former Pakistani captain offers helpful advice to Harshal Patel.
Former Pakistani captain offers helpful advice to Harshal Patel. Harshal Patel, an Indian fast bowler, couldn’t make a big comeback after being injured. The right-arm quick was thought to be one of the best death bowlers, but in three games against Australia, he only took one wicket. Moreover, he was one of India’s most expensive bowlers, giving up 99 runs over the course of three games.
Harshal is one of the 15 players who will be flying to Australia for the much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2022. He was picked over the more experienced pacer Mohammad Shami. Still, his shaky play in the most recent series has raised red flags for the team’s management.
After a string of bad games against Australia, the former captain of Pakistan, Salman Butt, has a suggestion for Harshal. Butt thinks the 31-year-old should throw faster balls more often and not just rely on his slower ones.
Butt’s suggestion for Harshal
In his most recent YouTube video, Butt said that Harshal’s slower deliveries may have helped him do well. But if he doesn’t change his pitch, he might have trouble in conditions that are good for batting.
“Harshal Patel is deceptive, but once the batter sees it from his hand, it is going to be tough for him. I don’t know how he is going to counter this issue in the upcoming matches. Being a fast bowler, he cannot be overly reliant on the slower ball. He is a good bowler and also bowls the full-pace ball well. He can be more successful if he uses his pace,” Butt said.
The former captain of Pakistan brought up Bhuneshwar Kumar’s hard time even more. The senior Indian pacer has been under the microscope for a while now because he hasn’t come through when it counts. Like Harshal, Bhuvneshwar only had one wicket at the end of the series.“Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again proved to be very costly. I don’t understand what India are trying to figure out. It’s going to be difficult for him on good batting pitches and when there’s no lateral movement on offer,” Butt said.
