Some of the fastest bowlers ever made came from Pakistan. Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis are all residents of the nation. They have a long history of fast bowling in cricket and a rich culture.
Pakistan still produces some of the best fast-bowling players in the world. The new crop of bowlers aren’t afraid to bowl fast, even though they haven’t had a pacer with the longevity and quality of Akram and Waqar in the 21st century. The Pakistani bowlers with the fastest times are listed below.
#1 Haris Rauf
Along with Mark Wood, Anrich Nortje, and Jofra Archer, Haris Rauf is currently arguably the fastest bowler in international cricket. In his early years, the pacer, 29, played tape-ball cricket, a well-known grassroots form of cricket in Pakistan.
In January 2020, Rauf made his international debut. He has played for the country in 57 T20Is, 18 ODIs, and one Test since then. He has repeatedly exceeded 150 kilometers per hour.
#2 Mohammad Hasnain
Mohammad Hasnain is a fast bowler who was born in Hyderabad, Pakistan, at the age of 22. In March 2019, the bowler who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall made his international debut. He has played for the country in 9 ODIs and 27 T20Is since then.
Because of his sheer speed and precision, he emerged on the scene. With 155.1 kilometers per hour, he bowled the fastest delivery in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history. However, he was spotted bowling in the Big Bash League (BBL) in January 2022. In June 2022, the International Cricket Council (ICC) approved of his action.
#3 Shaheen Afridi
Since his debut, Shaheen Afridi has consistently ranked among the best fast bowlers in the world. While other elite talents continue to compete for a regular spot on their national teams, he has established himself as the player with the most experience from the 2018 U-19 World Cup batch. In each of the three formats, he leads Pakistan’s bowling attack.
Even though Afridi isn’t known for being as quick as players like Wood, Jofra, and his teammate Rauf, he is pretty quick. At the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against New Zealand, the left-arm fast bowler clocked 151 kilometers per hour. He has played in 47 T20Is, 32 ODIs, and 25 Tests for his country.
#4 Naseem Shah
Naseem Shah made his Test debut for Pakistan in November 2019 at the age of 16, ranking ninth among Test cricket’s youngest players. He has tremendous potential to become a household name on a global scale, despite the fact that many people believe he was expedited too early. The 20-year-old has participated in 15 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 16 T20Is. How they manage the young right-arm pacer’s workload will be interesting to watch.
In the previous season of the PSL, Naseem’s fastest delivery was 148.7 kilometers per hour. In international and franchise cricket, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to travel at speeds of over 90 mph.
#5 Shahnawaz Dahani
The 24-year-old right-arm quick bowler made his presentation for Pakistan in November 2021. During that time, he has participated in two One-Day Internationals and eleven Twenty20 Internationals. Due to a finger injury, he was ruled out of the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.
He regularly bowls at over 140 kph. After he became the highest wicket-taker in the PSL 2021, Azhar Mahmood, an ex-all-rounder for Pakistan, lavished him with praise.
