FIVB President Discussed Future Opportunities – Held Meetings with Asian National Federations.During the VNL 2022 pool that was held in the Philippines, there were one-on-one meetings that took place. Dr. Ary S. Graca F°, President of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), continued his busy week in the Philippines on June 26, 2022, by meeting with three additional Asian National Federations (NFs): Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Mongolia. In addition, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Rita Subowo, FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo, Fédération Internationale de Volleyball Director for Asia and Oceania Luis Alexandre Pontes Rodrigues, and FIVB Head of Technical and Development Steve Tutton were present at the conversations with the representatives of the NFs.
The Aim of the Discussions
The talks were centered on the aims and problems of the NFs, as well as the chances the FIVB has to help them in increasing the growth of volleyball and beach volleyball on the continent in accordance with the AVC President. The NFs were represented by Mr. Kinzang Wangdi, who is the Vice-President of the Bhutan Volleyball Federation, and Mr. Chingarid Tsogtbaatar, who is the President of the Mongolian Volleyball Association, and Mr. A.S. Nalaka, who is the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation.
What the FIVB President said
After the discussions, the FIVB President stated:
“It was a great pleasure to meet with more National Federations here in the Philippines and listen first hand to their challenges and future plans. We outlined once again all the opportunities available for our 222 National Federations and encouraged the National Federations to apply for various types of support via the FIVB’s Volleyball Empowerment programme.”
Before going to the Philippines National Volleyball Federation’s Presidential banquet in honor of FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graca F°, the FIVB delegation got the chance to see a match in the VNL 2022 pool between France and Japan. The match was played between France and Japan.
