He only managed one run off seven deliveries before getting bowled out by opposing skipper Pat Cummins.
After Abdullah Shafique’s exit, Babar Azam went onto the crease at the conclusion of the 35th over of the second innings on Day 2 of the Test.
Pakistan were 124/2 at the time, with two of their veteran hitters in the middle, Shan Masood and Babar.
The onus was on both players to strengthen and grow Pakistan’s innings. However, this was not the case, as Babar Azam left soon after without making much of a contribution.
Pat Cummins set him up beautifully with a few of short balls before bowling a brilliant entering delivery that smacked the top of the off stump.
Fans were irritated after seeing Babar Azam’s second batting failure in an international Test. They believed he squandered the strong platform provided by the top order.
And let his side down at a critical moment of the game. Fans continued to attack him for the same in their remarks on X.
