Fan touches feet, ex-Indian cricket’s gesture melts hearts! Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricketer, made a fan’s day with a special move during the Legends League tournament, which is going on in different places across the country. Gambhir is the captain of the Indian Capitals team. The Indian Capitals are one of the four teams in the competition, and they are owned by the GMR group.
The Gujarat Giants and the Indian Capitals played the 7th game of the tournament at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. After the game, a young fan went up to the Indian Capitals captain, Gambhir, and touched his feet. When Gambhir saw how much the young fan loved and adored him, he made his day by giving him his autograph. The fan also told him, in a funny way, “Ek baar aap mantri banaoge” (You will become minister one day).
Gambhir in the Legends’ game
Gambhir is taking part in this competition for the first time. He did not play in the first season, which took place in Muscat, Oman, earlier this year. So far, the team led by Gambhir is on top of the table. They have five points after playing four games, two of which they won, one of which they lost, and one that was rained out.
Gambhir has only played two games, and he hasn’t hit a big run yet. The left-handed opener has only made 26 runs in his two turns with the bat. The Capitals will play again on Thursday, September 29, at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack against Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers.
Gambhir in IPL
Even though he retired, Gambhir is still involved in the sport. In addition to playing in these leagues for retired players, he is also the coach for the Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG), who joined the Indian Premier League (IPL), the most affluent cricket league in the world, in 2022. Gambhir is also a commentator, and he was recently seen with the mic during the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL).
