Profile
Devon Conway is the second player of South African origin to represent New Zealand. He is an attacking left-handed batsman who enjoys batting at the top in limited-overs cricket. Conway proves to be an efficient wicket-keeper.
Born and brought up in South Africa, Conway shifted to New Zealand in 2017. With close to 100 First-class games and 70 List A games to his credit, Conway was a popular name in South Africa’s domestic cricket matches. One of his biggest strengths is that he can adapt across formats. On arriving in New Zealand, Conway joined the University Club and started trying in the Super Smash for the Wellington Firebirds. He was kept on standby in the initial days with the odd game in between but the wicket-keeper Tom Blundell’s national call-up allowed Conway more game time. After this, he represented Wellington in all three formats of New Zealand’s domestic season and attained reasonable success.
