England Pacer became the most successful International Pacer: James Anderson England pacer became the first ever fast bowler in international history to complete 950 wickets on Saturday. He achieved this historic record on day 3 of the second test against South Africa. Currently, England is playing a test series against South Africa. Recently Kagiso had a great stint in a first test match at Lords.
Initially, Glenn McGrath had a record of 949 wickets across all formats. Now James Anderson has broken the record. The former is the most successful pacer in international cricket history. Now, the 40-year-old talented Pacer comes on the list of this achievement on the second test at Manchester’s Old Trafford.
James Anderson reached 950 wickets mark at international level
Anderson dismissed Simon Harmer for 48 balls of 16 runs to complete this achievement. He delivered an excellent delivery that went away from Simon and it was right at the stumps sending the ball away. The Wicket left the crowd at Old Trafford erupted with celebration after he reached the landmark. He has taken after Glenn McGrath who became the world’s leading Pacer with 949 wickets.
Anderson took 287 matches to take 951 wickets. He is the 4th most successful bowler of international cricket. The most successful bowlers in International Cricket are as follows – Sri Lanka spins Wizard Muralidharan with a record of 1347 wickets. Late Legend Shane Warne with 1001 wickets and great Indian spinner Anil Kumble with 956 wickets.
Anderson gave an impressive bowling performance at Old Trafford. England was impressive in the second test. They were led by a superb century and bowling by the Skipper Ben Stokes and James Anderson. The performances helped the hosts to clinch a massive win over South Africa.
By ending with the impressive victory, now England has leveled the series at 1-1. This means the last match will be the deciding match for the series.
Ben Stokes was named as man of the match for his all-rounder performance he has 103 runs and bowling figures of 2/70 and 2/30 in both innings.
