A furious altercation broke out between Pakistani cricket players Iftikhar Ahmed and Asad Shafiq on Wednesday, January 31, during a match in the Sindh Premier League.
In the eighth over of the innings, Iftikhar, who plays for Karachi Ghazi, removed Shafiq, the captain of Larkana Challengers. After getting the wicket and giving the opposition skipper a furious send-off, the spinner was fired up.
Shafiq approached Iftikhar after becoming ostentatiously enraged by his behavior. Before things became worse, the field officials and players interfered and separated the two.
On social media, the incident’s footage has gone viral, and many fans have criticized Iftikhar for his behavior.
The violent send-off may have been caused by Asad Shafiq hitting Iftikhar Ahmed for a six and a four earlier in the over.
The Larkana Challengers were bowled out for 92 runs while chasing a 161-run mark. Iftikhar scored 69 runs and claimed three wickets.
