During a Legends League Cricket match, the umpire had to break up an ugly altercation between Mitchell Johnson and Yusuf Pathan. In the second season of Legends League Cricket, some of the best players of all time are going up against each other. The competition has been fierce, with everyone putting their best efforts toward victory. But on Sunday, Yusuf Pathan, an all-rounder for Bhilwara Kings, and Mitchell Johnson, a pacer for India Capitals, got into an ugly fight on the field during the game.
The video of what happened is now all over social media. At first, Pathan and Johnson fought back and forth with angry words. Then, they almost ran into each other. Then Johnson pushed Yusuf, and the umpires had to break them apart.
In the match
Ross Taylor, a former New Zealand captain, and Ashley Nurse, a former West Indies star, both hit great half-centuries to help India Capitals beat Bhilwara Kings by four wickets in a thrilling qualifier on Sunday at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur. This put India Capitals in the Legends League Cricket final.
Taylor scored 84 in just 39 balls, which included nine fours and five huge sixes. Nurse scored 60 without getting out. In his 28-ball innings, he hit five fours and four sixes, which helped India Capitals reach the season’s highest target with three balls to spare.
In a game between the top two teams in the league, India Capitals did an excellent job of responding to the Bhilwara Kings’ score of 226-5. Ross Taylor kept them in the game by hitting the fastest fifty in the league in just 20 balls. However, when Sudeep Tyagi got rid of him on 84, the team still needed to score 59 runs in 29 balls.
After Taylor left, India Capitals kept the challenge going with the help of Ashley Nurse and Liam Plunkett, who held the required run rate in check. When his team needed eight runs in five balls, Nurse hit back-to-back huge sixes to not only get them there but also finish his half-century in style.
