Due to his outstanding performances this season, superstar forward Ousmane Dembele may be interested in receiving a raise from Barcelona. Over the course of the past few seasons, the 25-year-old Dembele has established himself as a consistent starter for the Blaugrana. He joined Real Madrid for €140 million in 2017 from Borussia Dortmund.
Since then, he has helped his team win six trophies, including two Copa del Rey and two La Liga titles. The 35-cap France ace has been a standout star in the Catalan giants’ ongoing La Liga title push. He is an ambidextrous forward with speed and dribbling. In 27 appearances across all competitions this season, he has made eight goals and seven assists.
Fichajes claims that Barcelona is eager to meet with Dembele’s representatives to discuss extending his contract. Even though the graduate of the Stade Rennais academy signed a one-year contract last summer, it is likely that he will be offered a raise to reflect his recent performance. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s decision to meet with the Blaugrana to discuss improved terms is still unknown.
This season, Raphinha, a high-priced summer signing, has had to settle for a rotational role because Dembele, whose contract at Camp Nou runs out in June 2026, has forced him to do so. However, neither Ferran Torres nor Ansu Fati has been able to take his place in their team’s starting lineup. Dembele has appeared in 177 games for the 26-time La Liga champions, scoring 40 goals and providing 41 assists. Dembele is expected to play for Barcelona against Girona in a La Liga match on Saturday, January 28 at the Estadi Montilivi.
For the 22-year-old Serie A striker, Barcelona was willing to pay €80 million:
TuttoSport claims that Barcelona is prepared to spend a whopping €80 million to acquire Dusan Vlahovic, a striker for Juventus, in the future. However, Manchester United and Chelsea, two Premier League teams, are thought to be in competition with the La Liga team. In the previous two seasons, the 22-year-old Vlahovic has established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A.
In January of last year, he secured a transfer to Juventus for approximately €81 million after scoring 49 times in 108 matches for Fiorentina. The Serbian international, who has 19 caps, is said to be leaving after the Bianconeri dropped 15 points this season. In total, Vlahovic has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for the team coached by Massimiliano Allegri in 36 games played in all competitions.
